EUmark Set 05 — compact electrochemical marking kit
Set 05 is the smallest, simplest system EUmark makes: one machine, one marking mode, built for one job and built to do it without extras you don’t need.
A controlled low-voltage current carries an electrolyte through a stencil into the part and converts the surface chemistry in the exposed pattern. Nothing melts, nothing is displaced, nothing is cut away — which is why the process is used for permanent identification on parts where stamping would deform the piece and a laser would put more energy into the surface than the job calls for.
What it does, stated plainly
Set 05 produces black oxide marking: a shallow, high-contrast dark mark. That covers most identification work — serial numbers, part numbers, logos, asset tags, maker’s marks.
What it does not do
It does not produce deep etch. If a drawing note specifies etch depth rather than contrast alone, or the mark has to survive media blasting, tumbling or years of abrasive handling, this is not the configuration — you need a full machine: Set 01, Set 02, Set 03 or SUPER SET 04. We would rather you knew that before ordering than after.
There is also no stencil printer in this kit. You mark with long-life photo stencils, which we produce from your artwork and which run up to 5,000 marks each — the right arrangement for a fixed logo or a fixed part identifier. If your marking content changes from part to part, look at Set 06, which is the same compact machine with a printer added.
Kit contents
- EUmark compact marking unit, 110 V / 220 V, with power and marking cables
- Hand stamp (marking head)
- Marking felt
- Electrolyte sample
- Sample long-life stencil and sample printed stencil
What the process does to the part
| Property | Effect | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Heat input | none | No HAZ to disposition on heat-treated alloys |
| Recast layer | none | No micro-cracking initiation site on cyclically loaded parts |
| Residual stress | none added | Fatigue allowables unchanged |
| Material removal | ~0.001″ surface conversion | Safe on thin wall sections and finished dimensions |
| Burrs and raised edges | none | No deburr operation after marking |
| Hardness and temper | unchanged | Marking happens last, on the finished part |
| Corrosion resistance | preserved | Neutralize with N11, then passivate to your existing procedure |
The electrolyte
Set 05 ships with a sample electrolyte to get you marking immediately. Full 200 ml bottles of M21, M22 and M23 are available separately once you know which one suits your material — each ships with a safety data sheet, which quality and EHS functions need for incoming inspection and the audit file.
M21 is self-cleaning and gets a high number of marks from one wetting of the felt — the choice for running a batch without stopping to re-wet. M23 is non-corrosive and suits corrosion-sensitive materials; wipe with a dry cloth after marking. Send us your alloy and we will tell you which to order.

Artwork that works
Thin lines, outlined text and open lettering reproduce best. Thick strokes and large solid black areas should be avoided: the electrolyte does not pass evenly through them and the mark comes out patchy. Where a logo is heavy, an outlined version marks far better than a filled one. Strokes below about 0.008″ (0.2 mm) tend to close up.
Send artwork as SVG, DXF, AI or EPS with the part finish, and we will tell you what will hold before you commit to a long-life stencil.
Questions we get
What’s the difference between this and Set 06?
A stencil printer. Set 06 is the same compact machine with a 58 mm printer added, so you can print stencils in minutes instead of ordering them. If your marking content is one fixed design, Set 05 is enough. If it changes from part to part, Set 06 is worth the difference.
Can I upgrade to deep etch later?
Not on this unit — deep etch requires the full machine used in Set 01, Set 02, Set 03 and SUPER SET 04. If there is any chance you will need it, it is worth confirming before you order rather than buying twice.
Will it mark hardened steel?
Yes. There is no thermal or mechanical input, so hardness and geometry are unaffected. This is why the process is used after heat treatment and final finishing rather than before.
Does marking affect corrosion resistance on stainless?
Not when the marked area is neutralized with N11 Neutralyte and passivated along with the rest of the part under your existing procedure.
Where does it ship from, and what will landed cost be?
Orders dispatch from Serbia and ship worldwide. Duties, tariffs and import handling vary by destination and change often. Tell us the delivery country before you order and we will provide the tariff classification, the shipping method and a landed cost estimate in writing.
Before you buy
Tell us your material and what you’re marking, and we’ll confirm whether Set 05 covers it — or whether Set 06 or a full machine would save you money in the first year.
